The Public Information Office (PIO) manages communications between the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, the public, and the media. The PIO shares timely and accurate information regarding significant incidents, criminal cases, community events, and other Sheriff’s Office activities.
The Public Information Officer serves as the agency’s primary spokesperson and media contact. Responsibilities include preparing news releases, managing social media communications, responding to media inquiries, and coordinating interview and information requests to ensure they are handled appropriately. he PIO is also responsible for coordinating all media requests for Sheriff Wayne Padgett.
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office is committed to maintaining cooperative relationships with the public and news media. The Public Information Office works to provide timely, accurate, and factual information across all media platforms.
The Sheriff’s Office cooperates fairly and impartially with media representatives while protecting ongoing investigations, individual privacy rights, and each person’s right to a fair and impartial trial.
